At a senior level, purchases materials, supplies, tools, and equipment and all necessary essentials for business operations. Supports department leadership in the execution of strategies that optimize business operations, inventory management and logistical efficiency. This position utilizes in-depth knowledge of best practices and experience in own discipline to provide and improve services. Takes a new perspective to solve complex problems. Works independently and receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May direct the work of other staff members.
Performs informal procurement requests and spot-buys of materials in accordance with Supply Management policies and procedures. Prepares commercial specifications for products to be quoted. Identifies potential source of suppliers and evaluates their capabilities in meeting company requirements. Issues invitations to offer products and services, evaluates quotes, and selects appropriate vendors. If necessary, negotiates transactions within delegation of authority. Monitors the status of purchase orders and /or credit card transactions and expedites as needed. Maintains supplier relationships and facilitates effective communication among customers and stakeholders to ensure the material needs of facilities and projects are met.
Provides product information, status updates and assistance in preparing statements of work (SOW) to stakeholders when needed. Researches invoice payment problems with internal stakeholders and/or suppliers to resolve discrepancies. Supports materials planning activities by assisting in the planning, scheduling and monitoring of inbound materials. Attends project planning meetings and assimilates upcoming material needs. Coordinates with stakeholders, vendors and work crews to ensure efficient movement of materials, facilitating communication among all parties and expediting or making material substitutions when necessary. Assists in outage planning and facilitates after-hours access to materials/parts in the events of emergency, outage or natural disaster. Performs various inventory control functions including expiration dating, disposition of excess, obsolete or scrap inventory. Verifies materials specifications and associated part numbers are accurate and up-to-date. Monitors inventory levels and usage patterns and makes stocking adjustments as necessary to maintain timely replenishment. Ensures accuracy of materials and accompanying receiving documents, noting any discrepancies or damage. Helps resolve material problems and returns (e.g. warranties, shipping, engineering specification issues) as required. Properly documents all inventory, logistics and purchasing activities in respective work management systems and software. Tracks and reports performance measures such as fill rates, schedule compliance, inventory status, quality of services, etc.
Employees will be required to follow any other job-related instruction and to perform any other job-related duties requested by supervisor or management. Five or more years of experience in purchasing/procurement, inventory management, logistics or warehouse operations. A degree in purchasing, supply management, business, or a related field. Experience transacting informal purchases for goods/services. Experience administering existing purchase contracts Experience managing supplier relationships. Experience establishing and managing stakeholders Experience assisting materials planning and movement. Understanding of warehouse operations. Understanding of inventory management and control. Understanding of logistics. Must confirm at least 1200 social media followers, references or subscribers from within your Earn App account. COMPENSATION, BENEFITS & PERKS
Base Annual Pay for this position starts at $480K
