JMW Motorsport to race with Bentley in GT World Challenge Asia

British racing team JMW Motorsport will field a Bentley Continental GT3 in GT World Challenge Asia in 2020, with former Bentley works driver Andy Meyrick (GBR) and team-mate Andrew Haryanto (IDN).

JMW Motorsport is one of the highest profile sportscar racing teams in Europe and is best known for competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship, European Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This will be the debut season with Bentley for the Essex-based team, which will travel to SRO’s Asian series for the first time.

Former Bentley works team driver Andy Meyrick, who took two GT World Challenge Europe race wins with Bentley Team M-Sport, will also make his championship debut. It’s not the first time for Andrew Haryanto, however. The experienced amateur racer contested the full GT World Challenge Asia season in both 2017 and selected rounds in 2019.

The entry will also see a return to the six-round series across China, Japan, Thailand and Malaysia for the Bentley Continental GT3, which last raced there in 2018.

Bentley’s Director of Motorsport, Paul Williams, comments:
“Having Continental GT3s capable of winning races in GT World Challenge Asia has been top of our priorities list for a while and, with JMW Motorsport, we believe we have this in place. There will now be a Bentley present in each of the GT World Challenge series making it a truly global customer motorsport programme.”

The 2020 GT World Challenge Asia kicks off at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on the 28th March before heading to Chang International Circuit in Thailand, taking in Fuji Speedway and Suzuka International Circuit in Japan, and concluding with two rounds at the Shanghai International Circuit in China.
